This storm developed behind me whilst I was in the car looking for vantage points to photograph other storms in the distance. Once it passed, I followed it just out of Lilydale and found a location to get some photos as it moved away, in a northerly direction. Photos taken with Canon EOS300D (Rebel) Digital SLR.

This storm battered the Geelong area for hours, hardly moving. It created severe flooding and storm damage. We set up in Brighton on the other side of Port Phillip Bay, expecting the storm to head straight for us. It never arrived, so the shots are quite distant with lots of zoom. In shot 4 you can see the lightning hit a lighthouse. The lights to the left of the lighthouse are from a container ship anchored in the bay. The first 3 shots are cropped heavily and not of print quality. Photos taken with Canon EOS300D (Rebel) Digital SLR.

This was my first chance to shoot lightning with my new Canon EOS300D (Rebel) Digital SLR. The storm was over the other side of Port Phillip Bay, around Geelong - at least 50km away. There was no time to get closer to it, so Sky High Mount Dandenong had to do, with full zoom. As such they are not much to talk about, but still worth publishing being my first digital lightning pictures.

This storm developed and moved very quickly over Port Phillip Bay. The only chance to photograph it was from Sky High Mount Dandenong. It was also my first experiment with Fuji Sensia 100 slide film in my Canon EOS3000 SLR Camera.

This was my first ever attempt at lightning photography. The storm was very small with only a few bolts, most of them captured below. It was very close, about 5km away with lightning hitting ground in Kilsyth / The Basin. Camera was Canon EOS3000 SLR with Kodak Gold 100 Print Film.
